PUBG Corp. Has Filed Lawsuit Against Epic Games
The two gaming giants PUBG and Fortnite, which are currently booming and have the same genre as Battle Royale, have a very surprising latest news, namely that these two games will soon meet in court over a “Copyright” case. According to a recent report from The Korea Times, PUBG Corp. has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Epic Games for copyright infringement in the game Fortnite.
PUBG Corp also asked the Seoul Central District Court, where the lawsuit was filed, to decide whether the similarities between PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale constitute copyright infringement.

Actually the problem between these two games started in September last year, when Epic Games released Fortnite Battle Royale to the public for free. And not long after that Bluehole as the publisher of PUBG gave a statement that there were similarities between these two games.
Vice President and Executive Producer for Bluehole Inc, Chang Han Kim said
We have an ongoing relationship with Epic Games throughout the development of PUBG because they are the makers of UE4, the engine we licensed for this game. After listening to growing feedback from our community and reviewing the gameplay for ourselves, we were concerned that Fortnite might be replicating the experience PUBG is known for.
We also noticed that Epic Games referenced PUBG in their promotion of Fortnite to their community and in communications with the press. This was never discussed with us and we feel it is not right.
The PUBG community has and continues to provide evidence of many similarities as we contemplate further action.

At this time there has been no official response from Epic Games regarding this lawsuit, so for now we can only wait for a response and legal developments from the Korean authorities whether it is true that these two games have similarities.
In other news, last month PUBG Corp. also took a lawsuit against NetEase, the maker of the games Rules of Survival and Knives Out for the same case.
