Nokia 8 Release Will Be Done August 16 Guys!

After circulating rumors and leaks online, HMD Global as Nokia’s licensee is known to have spread invitations to the media for the launch event which will be held in London, England on August 16th. This invitation is believed to be the event where the Nokia 8 will be officially released.

Quoted from the Techradar page, in the invitation HMD Global wrote: “HMD Global invites you to an exclusive gathering to unveil the next milestone for Nokia phones.”. There are no further details regarding this event, but quoted from the Theinquirer page, the release of the Nokia 8 will take place at 19.30 UK time.

Nokia 8 Scary Specifications

The Nokia 8 is Nokia’s first flagship smartphone after Nokia returned to operations in collaboration with HMD Global and its subsidiary Foxconn in China. This smartphone will also be Nokia’s first premium smartphone embedded with the Android operating system and equipped with dual cameras.

Of the many leaks circulating online, the Nokia 8 is rumored to come with high end specifications but at a more affordable price. The Nokia 8 will come with a full metal body, bezel-less with a 5.3-inch screen with a quad-HD x 1440 pixel screen resolution. This Nokia Android smartphone is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, Adreno 540 GPU with 4 / 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 256 GB with a microSD card.

Reportedly, the Nokia 8 will be powered by a non-removable 3999 mAh battery that features Quick Charging! In addition, there is also a 13 MP Carl Zeiss dual camera on the back of this smartphone. From photos spread online, the Nokia 8 looks equipped with a 3.5mm audio port, USB type-C port for charging and data transfer. With specifications like these, the Nokia 8 is included in the ranks of high-end smartphones such as the HTC U11, OnePlus 5, LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8.

Nokia 8 is equipped with the latest Android version, Android 7.0 Nougat. In addition, the Nokia 8 only has one SIM slot (GSM) for the Micro-SIM size. Other supporting specifications include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth GPS, USB OTG and 4G networks. The sensor embedded in the Nokia 8 is also reportedly not kidding. There is a Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope. There are also rumors that the Nokia 8 will be equipped with a fingerprint and iris scanner. Nokia 8 is also equipped with water and dust resistant features with IP68 certification.

Nokia 8 Price Prediction

The Nokia 8 will come in three color options, namely Steel, Blue and Gold-Copper. Regarding the price, this Nokia smartphone is predicted to be cheaper than other high-end smartphones in the price range of 600 US dollars or around Rp. 8 million. If this price is correct, then the price of the Nokia 8 will be cheaper than the Galaxy S8 which at its launch was sold for Rp. 10 million.
