Overwatch Skin Orisa Demico deserves to be official

Overwatch fans and artists created a new skin for Orisa with the theme of the year of the dog. The skins are so well made that they should be part of the event. Artist Antonio Demico, is the one who posted the Orisa skin on Twitter. He got his inspiration from the Chinese guardian lion when he created the Overwatch skin. The face of the Overwatch skin Orisa Demico takes on a traditionally inspired shape but those expressive eyes are preserved as they are an important part of the design.

Demico also mentions that Orisa’s shield and main drum were inspired by the balls that are often found in lion statues. The armor, Demico said, was designed like traditional Chinese armor. The detail that Demico puts on the skin is clearly visible in the beautiful concept art.

Blizzard created tons of amazing skins for the Overwatch event, and the Overwatch skin Orisa Demico Demico appeared and looked to be the best. Along with the new skin, Blizzard has also introduced a revamped Capture the Flag mode, complete with time duration and a map for playing this mode.

Overwatch’s year of the dog event is currently ongoing until March 5, 2021. Speaking of the year of the dog in Overwatch, this is a Chinese New Year celebration by Blizzard featuring over 50 seasonal items. Of course, the Overwatch skin is part of that item. Along with Chinese New Year, Blizzard has created a series of new skins based on Chinese mythology. In China, the Four Symbols represent the four mythological animals found in the constellations – the Azure Dragon in the East, the Vermilion Bird in the South, the White Tiger in the West, and the Black Turtle in the North.

In total, there are seven new Overwatch skins that have debuted in this year of the dog event. Talking about the Capture the Flag mode, Jeff Kaplan as Overwatch Game Director has announced that this mode is related to the new map released at the year of the dog event. This important announcement has been released in a developer update posted to YouTube.

The new map in question is called Ayutthaya, which is based in Thailand. This map itself has been specially designed to meet the needs of Capture the Flag mode. This mode previously existed also at the year of the rooster event. That’s where the Capture the Flag mode made its debut in 2021. There’s also the Capture the Flag mode using a smaller version of the map in Overwatch.

The game type Capture the Flag itself has received a few tweaks, the first being the removal of draws. There’s now a sudden death mechanic that moves both flags towards the center of the map, making the catch-up distance very short. Now raising the flag is instant. The use of extra mobile abilities, resulting in the player dropping the flag. An example is Winston Leap.

The Year of the Dog event also includes a four-week competitive season for the flag-grabbing mode, which will reward players with special sprays and icons. Due to the fashion, the Lunar New Year event will last for four weeks.

Four weeks were given because Jeff Kaplan believed that a lot of people were traveling during the Lunar New Year, they really missed some of the event. Blizzard wants to give players more opportunities to take part in the event.”
