OG Ends Ad Finem's Fairy Tale and Wins Dota 2 Boston Major

OG once again showed their consistency in the tournament by winning the Dota 2 Boston Major, beating Ad Finem 3-1. This victory is their third Major title after last season’s success in winning the Frankfurt and Manila Major.

OG’s journey to reach the final round was not easy. After topping the group, they had to face MVP Phoenix who had beaten them at The International 2021. Then they had to face the surprise team WG.Unity, then Evil Geniuses who were one of the favorites to win. Fortunately they managed to overcome all three teams.

Their struggle in this tournament was hindered by Ad Finem’s journey as a final test. Present as underdog who were not underdogs at all, this Greek team managed to create cinderella story in their first Major tournament.

After finishing third in the group, Ad Finem unexpectedly beat Newbee in the first round playoffs. It didn’t stop there, they successively defeated LGD.FY and also Digital Chaos in the next two rounds until they finally met OG in the final.

The first two games, OG easily managed to silence Ad Finem’s strategy and execute their own strategy perfectly.

The third game was the best match of the tournament. For 80 minutes, the two teams exchanged each other killOG could survive Mega Creeps, but Ad Finem managed to end the match spectacularly.

But in the fourth game, OG returned to playing at its best. They easily controlled the match and ended up ending the final with a 3-1 win. OG won their third Major, and their first in this 2021-17 season.

The next major is Kiev in April. With its consistency in this tournament, OG will certainly become one of the favorite teams to win.

But with the presence patches 7:00, the team strength map will certainly change completely, and we can only wait and see what happens in the next few months.
