Kominfo Consider Blocking PUBG Game

Telset.id, Jakarta – Responding to MUI’s plan to issue a fatwa haram for Muslims games Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) said it was possible to block games PUBG , if any party submits the request.

According to the Director General of Informatics Applications (Dirjen Aptika) Kominfo, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan said that his party could block PUBG if games it has a negative impact on society.

He revealed that Kominfo will usually review a report, for example from the MUI or other parties.

“MUI is an independent institution. If it (PUBG) is felt to be damaging, it will be reviewed first, and please submit it to the Kominfo. We are ready to follow up on the blocking request,” Semuel told reporters, Thursday (22/03/2021).

Kominfo itself seems to have communicated with MUI. Because Semuel admitted that he had communicated with the Fatwa Commission MUI Asrorun Niam Sholeh related to the discourse of haram fatwas for PUBG. “Earlier, I also spoke with Asrorun Niam Sholeh,” said Semuel.

Previously, it was reported that the Indonesian Ulema Council would review the PUBG game. They will consider removing PUBG game haram fatwa, because the game is considered to have caused harm or bad impact.

Currently, no party has submitted a request for a related fatwa games PUBG. However, according to the Deputy Chairperson of the Central MUI, Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi, his party did not ignore the PUBG phenomenon. MUI may consider immediately conducting discussions because: games this has caused harm.

“Because games PUBG has become a societal phenomenon, even as a result of games This has caused harm, then MUI will immediately assign a research and study commission together with the fatwa commission to conduct an assessment of the problem,” Zainut told reporters, Thursday (21/3/2021). [NM/HBS]
