How to Limit First Media WiFi Users

As users, we definitely want to know how to limit Firstmedia, Indihome, Fiberhome, Huawei, Speedy and other wifi users so that the access we use can function optimally.

There are several ways to limit wifi users of Firstmedia, Indihome, Fiberhome, Huawei, Speedy and others but overall the methods are almost the same.

The purpose of limiting this is solely so that our activities are not disturbed by Wifi users who we do not know and tend to be wasteful in their use, such as downloading, streaming and even the possibility of illegal actions using our Wifi access.

If we use the Internet access provided by Firstmedia, then we will be given an additional device, namely a Wireless Router. This Wireless Router functions to regulate incoming and outgoing Internet activities that are used before entering the Firstmedia main network.

Usually, we will place this device in a position that is possible and affordable for all users in the room or home. So that the signal can be reached optimally.

If our Wifi access leaks or is misused by others, it could be that when we want to open a news site or look for information it will feel very slow. This, of course, will trigger resentment and eventually we will complain to the Internet access provider, Firstmedia.

Of course, after submitting a report, we will get an answer that the slow access is due to maximum usage according to the package we are using.

How to limit Firstmedia Wifi users is not only intended for access from unknown people, but can regulate the use of devices that we have at home or those used by families in the house.

How to limit Wifi First Media users

Please note how to limit Firstmedia Wifi users is an action taken by the customer and not by the Internet access provider.

Bandwidth Limiter

How to limit firstmedia wifi users can be done by limiting the amount of internet access that can be used by each device.

This menu is located on the Wireless – Advance sub menu, then selects QoS Control. In this menu you will be asked to enter the MAC Address of the device you want to limit.

This restriction is based on MAC / IP Address which will be limited to Upload and Download Access. After we enter the amount of bandwidth that is allowed to be used by each device. We press Save or Submit then wait a few moments.

In some cases it is not necessary to reboot or restart the device, but it is recommended that it is effective and that there are no remaining connections connected. So it would be nice if the device was turned off first for 5 minutes after the settings were made.

This aims to release all remaining access or remaining configurations that are still stored on Wifi devices or devices used by us.

Changing Wifi Access Password Periodically

To get internet access that is channeled by the Wireless Router device, login access is required in the form of an SSID (Service Set Identifier).

In this section the SSID will be asked only if we set access to our Wifi using Password or WPA2.

After entering the SSID and Password, then the device can be connected to the network and can access the Internet.

The function of changing this password is to prevent unauthorized people who know our password from always being able to log in freely.

Hide SSID

Like changing the SSID password, we can hide the SSID for Wifi devices. This will make it difficult for people who do not know our SSID Name to be able to access our Wifi Network easily even though the password is known by that person.

Usually, after all the devices we know are connected to Wifi Firstmedia, we can click the SSID menu in the settings [ v ] Hide SSID.

Well, that’s how to limit Firstmedia wifi users which is easy to do and not too time-consuming but can make our internet access even better.

Of course there are many other ways that can be done, this is related to the variety of brands on the market and also the configuration of each type is different.
