Horizon Forbidden West Shows First Gameplay on PS5 Showcase

Guerrilla Games is showing gameplay footage from Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 for the first time during the May 2021 PlayStation State of Play event.

A few days ago they announced that Guerrilla Games is planning to host a May 2021 PlayStation of Play event for the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West.

They also claim that scheduling the showcase is to give fans a first look at how the Horizon Zero Dawn sequel will play out.

After five hours of preshow featuring new details such as Horizon Forbidden West’s day and night cycle, Guerrilla Games has finally fulfilled its promise with gameplay, doing so by playing part of one of its story missions.

After the story missions ended, Ben McCaw, Forbidden West’s narrative director, guided fans through the spectacle and contextualized what they saw and detailed all of the improvements Guerrilla made after Zero Dawn.

In the game tells the story of Aloy, a young woman who came out of the village to track down evil groups. The group is the people who attack his tribe and want to kill the woman.

During his search and rescue, Aloy displays the ability to battle using a bow and spear, as well as Pullcaster and Shieldwing jokes that allow him to traverse the world in new ways.

Horizon Forbidden West is set in the 31st century, a world where humans live on Earth in a primitive state. Life on Earth began to rise after they were nearly exterminated during the 21st century by a plague of extermination robots.

In addition to gameplay, the game also reveals several new weapons and additional features for Aloy, including:

Valor Surges: Upgrades the spear and gives it various abilities.
Smoke Bomb: Can be used by Aloy for cover.
Java Launchers: Allows Aloy to throw a spear with a splinter effect at the enemy.
Adhesive Grenades: Combines with Slingshot Alow to stop enemies in their tracks.
Precision Arrows: Returned from the first game to help Aloy take off the engine parts.

Spear gameplay shows how much the Forbidden West battle improves over Zero Dawn, because here Aloy can do extraordinary things that players want.

For example, he can seamlessly transition between his bow and spear, and access combos and abilities that offer distinct advantages when used.

Overall, everything that was displayed during the event seems to have made gamers worth waiting for, although there is currently no information regarding the release date, but they say that this game will be released in 2021 for PS4 and PS5.
