GothamChess Lost Playing Chess, Indonesian Chess Banned
The name Dadang Subur, a chess player from Indonesia, suddenly went viral in cyberspace after he managed to beat an international chess master, Gothamchess or Levy Rozman. Instead of getting an appreciation, Dadang actually received unfair treatment. Why not, after Gothamchess was defeated by an online chess gamer at Chess.com, Dadang Subur’s account was banned.
Investigate, this happened because the owner of the Dewa_Kipas account was suspected of committing fraudulent actions. The angry Gotham Chess supporters then made an account report (mass report).
Chess.com Chronology Block Dadang Account
The problem started when Dadang Subur met with Gotham Chess on March 2, 2021 in an online chess match that was broadcast on Twitch and watched by thousands of people. Surprisingly, 10 minutes later this Dewa_Kipas managed to make GothamChess lose.
GothamChess fans who did not accept that their idol lost in the chess match then went berserk and made a mass report against Dewa_Kipas account because they were considered cheating. As a result, the match page between GothamChess and Dewa Fan was attacked by various responses from netizens.
“This person is cheating. If you look at the accuracy and duration of the movement, it’s impossible if you don’t cheat,” said Fieldlord.
“It’s a shame for GothamChess fans who can’t accept their idol losing,” said Cikoji.
“Losed, then the fans reported their parents who just played chess.com. Shame on GothamChess fans,” said Ghaffaridzan.
“Just rematch with live streaming as proof,” said SylaGary.
Clarification
So, did Pak Dadang really commit fraudulent acts? Ali Akbar, as the son of Mr. Dadang Subur, revealed the fact that his father did not commit any evil deeds. Through his Facebook account, Ali admitted that his father had indeed pursued chess.
In fact, Ali said, his father used to be a member of Percasi and won many tournaments. In 2005 his father also won the first place in the chess tournament in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan.
Furthermore, Ali also explained the chronology of why his father’s account was banned by Chess.com. According to Ali, his father’s suspicions were due to the Dewa_Kipas account having an ELO of 2,300.
“My father was a player who used to often participate in tournaments. He also became a member of Percasi and won many tournaments. One of them was ranked first in the 37th chess championship in Singkawang in 2005,” said Ali, Wednesday (3/3/2021).
“My father played chess Online at Chess.com, met Gotham Chess. My father’s match was broadcast live on Twitch and was watched by thousands of people. My father won, the audience was angry, they accused my father of cheating, they mass-reported my father’s account. I swear I don’t accept it,” said Ali Akbar via his Facebook account.
“But the pace and way of playing is like someone with an ELO of more than 2,700 or the equivalent of a grandmaster,” said Ali.
Until this news came down, it was reported that Ali had been contacted by GothamChess to resolve the issue amicably. Both parties agreed to make peace if the post that cornered his father was deleted. In order to prove the truth, Ali said that his father was ready for a rematch with GothamChess.
“Tomorrow I will make a clarification along with the complete chronology. This is all just a misunderstanding,” said Ali.
Ali had previously brought this issue to the Reddit forum. Unfortunately, once again the complaint actually received a negative response. As there are still many parties who suspect the victory of Mr. Dadang Subur.
As is known, Gotham Chess himself is an international chess master who also doubles as a YouTuber. With the number of subscribers reaching 700,000, Gotham Chess often shares tips on playing chess to fans.
