Geek Fam Defeat BOOM ID and Win Asia Pacific Acer Predator League

Asia Pacific Acer Predator League brings together eight teams Dota 2 best of eight Asia Pacific countries. Of the eight teams, two favorites, namely Geek Fam (Malaysia) and BOOM ID (Indonesia) met in the final. Unfortunately, despite playing as the host, BOOM ID still had to admit defeat to Geek Fam with a score of 2-1.

Since the beginning of the tournament, BOOM ID and Geek Fam have been predicted to meet in the final. Both are strong teams that have often participated in or even met in Minor or Major qualifiers as well as other Southeast Asian level tournaments.

Both teams are also in the bracket different. That way they will only meet in winners’ final on bracket which adheres to the format double elimination best of three this.

When compared to the other six teams, both Geek Fam and BOOM ID seem to have a slightly higher level of play. It was proven in the first two rounds, both of them managed to overcome their respective opponents with a score of 2-0 without reply.

When you meet at winners’ final, the match between Geek Fam and BOOM ID was fierce. But they had to admit the advantage of Geek Fam with a score of 2-1. BOOM ID must be down to lower bracket against Quid Pro Quo (QPQ) from the Philippines.

Against QPQ, BOOM ID won with a score of 2-1 and once again met Geek Fam, this time in the final round.

On games first finale, Geek Fam finished off BOOM ID thanks to the Bounty Hunter who continued to make rotations that yielded kill in mid along early game. After that Geek Fam did snowball thanks to the Tracks they got from the Bounty Hunter.

BOOM ID replied to games second. BOOM ID excels throughout the game and forces Geek Fam to do stall with Tinker and hopes to turn things around with Medusa. But thanks to some pick off important, BOOM ID can finally secure games second.

On games finally, once again early game which is not good to make BOOM ID left behind. Can’t run game plan them, BOOM ID is having a hard time keeping up team fight Geek Fam and ended up losing.

With this title, Geek Fam is entitled to take home US$50,000 (around Rp. 660 million). While BOOM ID as runner up entitled to take home US$25,000 (approximately Rp. 333 million).
