Failed to Qualify, CEO Releases Prihal Statement for TI8 Navi Squad
Sadness is sweeping the Navi TI8 squad after they were confirmed not to qualify for the closed qualifying round of The International 8 CIS region. This event means that they will not be able to compete in the main event of the TI8 international tournament. With the failure of Navi to TI8, it means that the DotA 2 e-Sports team has not been able to make it to the main event of The International for two years in a row.
TI8 Navi Squad
With the end of the opportunity to compete in the final event of the MOBA DotA 2 games, The International 8, the fate of the Navi TI8 squad is uncertain. However, thanks to Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s comments, Navi CEO finally made a statement about his decision on the future of the Navi TI8 squad.
CEO Navi . statement
After Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s story went viral on Reddit, Yevhen “Harispilton” Zolotarov as CEO of Navi immediately made a statement about Navi as a whole, and the Navi TI8 squad via video. There were 3 important points discussed, namely the replacement of LeBron, the future of Navi, and the future condition of the Navi TI8 squad
Regarding LeBron’s substitution before the TI8 Navi qualification ended, Harispilton said that the change was the fault of all team members and also himself in making decisions.
“With regards to LeBron, his substitution was not because he didn’t suit a weak team or player. Although there is a lack of micro-control skills, his change has more to do with his selfishness inside and outside the game.”
“Dendi discussed this issue in his vent on Twitter, and it is true that he did not approve of LeBron’s replacement. In fact, only he was against it. Since the majority agreed that LeBron was in trouble and had to be replaced, I followed the majority vote. However, those who voted to replace LeBron didn’t see their weakness either, namely laziness.”
“LeBron was asked to be replaced before Epicenter XL started. However, I still insist there is no change before the event is over. I believe if the match against Newbee had a different result, then there would be no substitution. Then, Navi will get better results in TI8 qualifiers.”
“The responsibility lies with everyone: players, coaches, analysts and managers. However, since I make the decisions, I am also responsible.”
Harispilton mentioned his hopes for Navi’s future in DotA 2 eSports. He said he wanted to start a new DotA 2 Navi team via two options he saw as good.
“There are two options for creating a new Navi. The first option is to choose a strong captain like the CEO of Virtus.Pro, Sneg1. He recruits Solo, and frees him to play with any player he wants. The second option, by recruiting the entire team directly. Even without a strong captain, the distribution in the game is clear. Examples such as Winstrike.”
Finally, Harispilton discussed the fate of the Navi TI8 squad, both players, coaches, managers and analysts. He said he would make a decision after August 2021.
“The entire TI8 Navi squad will be decommissioned until August. However, management will not announce the disbandment of the DotA 2 team. Some think, we want to do a “new era” trick by announcing the same team two months later. However, that is not our goal.”
“If we use the strong captain’s option, then some of our members might match that choice. If you use the option to recruit players based on clear roles, some of our players will also stay.”
“It is very difficult to predict which players will come out, but I will give my opinion. There is a very small chance that more than one player will stay in the team, because we have the desire to start from scratch.”
Seeing Harispilton’s statement, as before, it seems that only Dendi will remain as a player from the Navi TI8 squad. For other positions, it is not clear what kind of change will occur. If you’re curious, wait for more news about Navi on Kabargames!
