DC and RRQ Dropped at the Beginning of GESC 2021
The international tournament of MOBA DotA 2 minor games entitled GESC 2021 has entered its third day. From a total of 8 participants, there are 3 teams that have returned home and one will soon follow. Among the teams that left earlier, there were 2 teams that left early, namely DC and RRQ. Rex Regum Qeon and Digital Chaos, both failed to achieve their goal of becoming GESC 2021 champions. DC and RRQ were kicked out at the start of GESC 2021 after disappointing performances.
A pair of Bo1 playoffs at GESC: Indonesia resulted in the elimination of two teams. The first match was between Digital Chaos and Natus Vincere, and the second was between The Final Tribe and Rex Regum Qeon. Finally, Digital Chaos and Rex Regum Qeon were on the losing side and were sent home.
Series 1: Digital Chaos 0:1 Na’Vi
High tension between Na’Vi and DC occurred when they started this one eSports match. Facing elimination in just one game, neither side wanted to take unnecessary risks. The two chose to avoid a lot of confrontation, resulting in a low kill count throughout the game.
The Morphling Hero as well as the Shadow Fiend from Na’Vi make good use of their unhindered farming opportunities. At 30 minutes of the match, finally, the two teams met on the trail near the area Roshan was in, and the Na’Vi defeated their foe. Four heroes from DC fall, and Na’Vi claims Roshan.
Na’Vi ravaged DC’s headquarters. Next, the Na’Vi aimed their attacks at the upper lane barracks. DC buys back heroes. However, it did not meet the target, and the team from North America was eliminated from GESC Jakarta.
Series 2: The Final Tribe 1:0 Rex Regum Qeon
Rex Regum Qeon started their international tournament badly. The trend continued when they had to face The Final Tribe in the Bo1 Play Off round. At the beginning of the match RRQ hopes to dominate the lane, and then to dominate the match. However, that didn’t happen. As the game changed not only in lane, RRQ was overwhelmed by The Final Tribe and often died.
The Final Tribe took advantage of these deaths by shifting the goal from kill to tower and Roshan. Finally, with only the top left to beat, The Final Tribe started their final push to beat the Indonesian team quickly.
A few successful defenses on their defense allowed RRQ to extend the game, but that only extended the breath instead of making the team win. The infamous Tiny show by Jonas ‘jonassomfan’ Lindholm tortured RRQ and prevented RRQ team members from building any momentum.
The RRQ DotA 2 team ran out of ways to overcome The Final Tribe at every chance of a team battle. The map movement of The Final Tribe was superior and it made RRQ fall. The Final Tribe beat the home team after their last disappointing performance.
The DC and RRQ teams were kicked out at the beginning of GESC 2021 as a natural consequence of the poor performances of the two teams. However, the most disappointing of course is DC who lost to NaVi. DC is considered disappointing because of the last few years DC’s performance is still better than NaVi. While the RRQ team itself did not expect much from them.
