3 Tips to Overcome Battery Waste on Android Marshmallow
Android Marshmallow is an operating system made by Google which is currently the most widely adopted by smartphone manufacturers to be embedded in their products. The Android Marshmallow operating system is considered the most perfect and stable compared to other Android OS. But the population of android marshmallow smartphones still can’t beat android lollipop.
Compared to lollipop, Android Marshmallow offers more significant feature improvements, some of which are Google Now on Tap, App Permissions and longer battery life (Doze Mode). However, like the initial version update, Marshmallow 6.0 also has a lot of bugs that are quite annoying.
One of them is that smartphone users who have updated to Android Marshmallow will find serious problems such as audio problems, wasteful battery and some even experience battery charging problems that are getting slower. As quoted from the Phone Arena page, the problem of battery waste after upgrading to Marshmallow is the most complained by users. If you are an Android Marshmallow user and have problems with your battery, here are 3 tips you can do to deal with a draining battery after upgrading to Android Marshmallow.
Optimize the Doze Feature
For those of you who don’t know what the Doze feature is, this feature works by putting all applications to sleep when the smartphone is not in use (standby) so that the power usage by the application will decrease drastically and cause the smartphone battery to last longer. This feature is one of the superior features of Android Marshmallow in order to extend battery life.
Turn off the Backup My Data feature
If you use the Doze feature, but instead make the smartphone battery run out quickly, it’s most likely due to a bug in the Backup My Data feature or called wakelock. The bug keeps the smartphone awake for a long time for no apparent reason. To fix this, you can turn off the Backup My Data feature. But many other reports say that this problem is more complex.
Some android marshmallow smartphone users say that by turning off Wi-Fi and rebooting the smartphone so that the problem can be resolved. But the problem is, turning off Wi-Fi and rebooting the smartphone is only temporary. How to turn off the Backup My Data feature by opening the Settings menu then selecting Backup & Reset or selecting Backup My Data OFF and finally selecting Reboot.
Factory Reset
If the above method has not been able to solve the problem, the last step you can do is to do a Factory Reset Data via Recovery Mode. Before doing a Factory Reset, make sure you have backed up important data stored on your smartphone if you don’t want to lose the data permanently.
The first step, first turn off your smartphone, then press and hold the Home button – Volume up and Power button simultaneously, release after 5 seconds, you will enter Recovery Mode after that select Wipe Cache and Delvik Cache.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is Google’s latest S that is widely used on Android smartphone devices today. There is even Android 7.0 Nougat and the latest is Android 8.0 Oreo which Google has just released. Most of the high end smartphones have already got the upgrade to Android Nougat and soon will also get access to the update to Android Oreo. So for those of you who are still using Android Marshmallow, don’t worry! Maybe in the near future your smartphone will be able to officially upgrade to Android Nougat or Oreo which has many improvements here and there regarding applications, security and features.
