ZOTAC GTX 1660 TI AMP VGA Review
JAKARTA, PEMMZCHANNEL.com – KThis time we had the opportunity to review Zotac’s GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, the Zotac GTX 1660 TI AMP. In terms of specifications, the GTX 1660 Ti AMP from Zotac is arguably slightly above average in performance. When compared to other GTX 1660 TI, the AMP version of Zotac is OC-factory. For this AMP version, the boost clock is 1860 MHz, while the regular version of Zotac has a boost clock of 1770 MHz. Let’s read this article to the end to prove its performance.

Packaging
In the sales package, we think it is very – very minimalist. Because in the box we only found a setup guide book, without additional converter DVI to HDMI and converter 8 pin power vga to molex. In addition, the absence of bonus games in the VGA package is one of its own shortcomings. Maybe the absence of some of these things indicates that this VGA has its own advantages in terms of performance.
Port
The port provided by the Zotac GTX 1660 Ti AMP has 3x DisplayPort 1.4 and 1x HDMI 2.0. So, for those of you who have a monitor with a D-SUB/VGA port, you have to buy an additional converter when you want to use this VGA. In addition, with the availability of many ports, you can install up to 4 monitors on this VGA.
Design
In terms of design, the Zotac GTX 1660TI AMP that we are holding has a design that looks solid with a compact size. This VGA looks sturdy because it uses a backplate which not only functions for aesthetics, but this backplate also functions to help the cooling process on the VGA and prevent the possibility of the VGA being bent.
This VGA has a size that is not so large, so we think that if it is compared to a mini PC, this VGA can be an option. This VGA size is 209.6 x 119.3 with a thickness of 41 (mm). For the cooler itself, this VGA uses a heatsink with 2 90mm fans with Ice Storm 2.0 technology. The fan rotation speed at maximum is 3170 rpm with a sound that is quite normal.
We enter the temperature section, when the fan is running 100% the minimum temperature is recorded at 35 °C at idle and the maximum temperature is 55 °C. Meanwhile, when the fan is on auto at idle, the resulting temperature is 40 °C and a maximum of 63 °C when loaded with 3D Mark fire strike. . DFrom these results, we can say that the cooling on the VGA is quite effective and good
Performance
As for the power consumption itself, we tried it by running 3D Mark Fire Strike and checking it with GPU-Z. This VGA consumes about 126 watts of power at full load and consumes 97% of the power limit provided. However, we can provide an additional power limit of up to 110% through the afterburner for overclocking.
With specifications like this, it looks like this VGA is more highlighting the performance side where this VGA has been factory-OC so that its performance is out-of-the-box. This makes this VGA can immediately issue the best performance without the need for OC manually.
However, it’s not called pemmzchannel if we don’t overclock it manually. For those of you who feel lacking the performance from the factory, you can increase the performance a little by overclocking this VGA manually. The following are the results of the increase in performance after being overclocked manually.
Benchmark | Galax GTX 1660TI | Zotac GTX 1660TI AMP | Zotac GTX 1660TI AMP OC |
3DMark – Time Spy | 6018 | 6256 | 6708 |
3DMark – Fire Strike | 13663 | 14046 | 15030 |
3DMark – Fire Strike Ultra | 3311 | 3402 | 3714 |
GTA V (avg) | 99 fps | 100 fps | 102 fps |
Final Fantasy XV | 6106 | 6426 | 7011 |
CS:GO (avg) | 222 fps | 245 fps | 269 fps |
PUBG (avg) | 127 fps | 139 fps | 152 fps |
Apex Legend (avg) | 84 fps | 96 fps | 115 fps |
Far Cry 5 (avg) | 77 fps | 79 fps | 83 fps |
Assassin’s Odyssey (avg) | 54 fps | 55 fps | 59 fps |
Conclusion
In our opinion, with a price range of Rp. 4,660,000 makes the price offered arguably in accordance with its performance. Regarding aesthetics, the availability of a backplate is a plus point, considering that several other VGAs at the same price do not include a backplate.
If we talk about packaging issues or the benefits obtained, from the VGA box provided there is only a user manual, which unfortunately is coupled with the absence of an 8-pin power to molex. And for those of you who want a game bundle in this VGA package, it’s a shame Zotac doesn’t provide it for now.
This VGA has very good performance, you could even say it is very worth it. In addition to this VGA already in the factory OC, you can still improve its performance a little by overclocking it manually. On the gaming side, this GTX 1660 TI can play many games on competitive esports or AAA games and of course for battle royals it is good enough to run on monitors with high refresh rates and monitors.
