Samsung and PUBG Mobile Cooperate to Hold Global Tournament

Last week Samsung just announced that they would be holding a Fortnite gaming contest in collaboration with a Fortnite streamer called Ninja. But surprisingly, this week Samsung also announced that its company is working with PUBG Mobile to hold a tournament on a global scale.

Samsung announced that it will sponsor the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge (PSMC) tournament. PUBG Mobile Star Challenge is a global tournament for popular streamers. All participants will compete for a prize pool of US$600,000 and an official streaming contract. However, it seems that Samsung here is not directly involved in this tournament and is only the sponsor who will provide the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 smartphone in this tournament.

Unlike the Fortnite contest, this PUBG Mobile Star Challenge can only be participated by a team of four players with one of the members having to have more than 1000 followers on streaming platforms or social media. This tournament is open to teams from Europe, North America, South America, China, Korea/Japan and Asia.

Winners of the regional qualifiers will get the chance to play on the main stage of the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge. The winner of the regional qualifiers will receive a US$20,000 prize, the runner-up will receive a US$15,000 prize and the third place will receive a US$10,000 prize.

Then in the final round of PUBG Mobile Star Challenge, the winner will get a prize of US$200,000, while the runner-up will get a prize of US$100,000 and the third place winner will receive a prize of US$50,000.

Tournaments such as the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge will be very helpful in determining the future of mobile e-sports, which is still not as popular as it is today. For those of you who may be interested and feel that you have met the requirements to be able to take part in this PUBG Mobile Star Challenge event, you can register yourself here.
