Good News, Player Unknown's BattleGrounds or PUBG Smartphone version is Coming Soon

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, also known as PUBG, is coming to mobile devices. Tencent – sang publisher in China will work closely with game developer Bluehole to bring the Smartphone version of PUBG to the Mainland China market.

According to an announcement from Tencent, the development of the smartphone version of PUBG is “going smoothly”. Maybe this is a sign that you don’t have to wait long to play Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds or the smartphone version of PUBG on Android and iOS devices.

No one has mentioned whether the PUBG version mobile will be released outside of China. That’s not surprising given that 40 percent of the PC version’s player base is in China. Xbox One users will also be able to enjoy PUBG globally on December 12.

Given that Tencent’s rival, NetEase, has games similar to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds such as Terminator 2 and Wilderness as the first and third most downloaded mobile games in China today, it’s only natural that Tencent would want to try its luck against the existing competition.

Earlier this year, Tencent was ousted by Chinese media for making children addicted to violence after the popularity of the game Honor of Kings exploded, which eventually forced Tencent to impose a curfew for underage players.

The company believes this will put a positive light on the team spirit and healthy competition of the game and ensures to provide “a positive cultural guide and healthy values especially for underage users”.
