Rumor: Nintendo Will Release Cheap Switch Version in June?
Since March 2021 Nintendo has indeed been rumored to be releasing 2 new versions for the Nintendo Switch, namely a cheap version and an expensive version. As the name implies, the two versions of the Switch will have different performance according to the type of price offered. The cheap version of the Switch is aimed at casual gamers. Nintendo will remove the vibrate and feature docking on Switches. The physical appearance of the cheap Switch is expected to be more similar to the Nintendo 2DS.
Even though it’s still a rumor, the news of the release of a cheap version of the Switch is getting stronger. This cheap switch is expected to be released around June 2021. One of the Japanese newspapers that carried this rumor was Nikkei. From Nikkei, it is known that this cheap version of the Switch will be released this fall. In addition, the news was also published in Bloomberg which cites June as the month of the cheap Switch release. These two sources, so far, are quite reliable. The reason is, the two media have a close relationship with Nintendo.
Meanwhile, there has been no official confirmation from Nintendo regarding this. In community forums in several countries, it is predicted that Nintendo will announce it at E3 2021.
