PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) Season Zero Officially Held

PUBG Mobile continues to bring the esports ecosystem to life for all. They prepared PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) Season Zero. The tournament will be held from November 24 to December 20, 2021 in a league format.

The tournament, which is PUBG Mobile’s biggest event, will feature 24 teams. They are PMPL (PUBG Mobile Professional League) winners and runners-up from every region around the world. The entire PMGC team will fight each other for a total prize of 2 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 28.5 billion.

Of the 24 participating teams will be screened into 16 teams. The 16 teams are entitled to qualify for the PMGC grand final. The grand final itself will be held in early 2021. The league format used at PMGC 2021 is not much different from last year’s PUBG Mobile World League (PMWL).

Initially, 24 teams will compete on weekdays to determine the 16 teams that will compete on super weekends. Standing points can only be obtained by teams from super weekends. The top 16 teams in the standings will qualify for the grand final.

In weekdays, teams will compete on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only each week. The two Indonesian representatives who participated in the tournament were in different groups. Aerowolf Limax is in the same group as the Chinese giant, Nova Esports. The team was a giant in the PMWL last season. Meanwhile, Aerowolf will accompany another Southeast Asian team, Power888 (Thailand).

On the other hand, Bigetron Red Alience is in hell’s group, group C. In that group, Bigetron RA will face his mortal enemy, RRQ Athena, from Thailand. In the group there is also Natus Vincere who is ready to become a dark horse. And what should also be watched out for in group C is Team Secret Malaysia. PMGC Season Zero will be broadcast through the livestream of the official PUBG Mobile account on YouTube and Facebook starting at 18.00 WIB.

PUBG itself has a number of agendas in 2021. Not only holding the PMGC grand final, they are also ready to expand PMPL by adding new territories. Maybe PMPL will create new regions in Turkey, Western Europe, and North America.
