How to know the laptop is hot

It is common knowledge that the heat of a laptop, a laptop that is too hot can cause discomfort during use, overheating or component damage. But, do you know how to find out if a laptop that has been used is too hot or not?

Method #1 (Use Monitoring Software, HWMonitor)

To check the CPU temperature, you can see the CPU core section. Intel & AMD have the highest temperature limits which you can check on their respective websites.

As an example,
Intel Core i7-10750H has the highest temperature up to 100 degrees Celsius.
Ryzen 7 4800H has the highest temperature up to 105 degrees Celsius.

If your CPU temperature has reached 90 degree centigrade to the top when it’s in use, then it’s a good idea to have to cool your CPU with the features overboost which is on your laptop. The above also applies to laptop GPUs.

Method #2 (Checking Your Laptop Battery Temperature)

The temperature tolerance on your laptop is much lower than the CPU and GPU. For battery type Lithium-Ion which are mostly used for electronic devices, the normal temperature must be below 45 degrees Celsius.

If the battery on your laptop often operates above this temperature, the battery life will be shorter and this will happen swelling on the battery, which can damage other components. As an example touchpad on your laptop will lift because the battery has started to swell.

In addition, excessive heat can cause soldered components to crack or warp on motherboard your laptop. It’s good, you use your laptop on a flat place. If it’s still hot, give it a try clean your laptop and try using an air compressor to clean the dust.

Also pay attention to the fan settings used if your laptop supports it manually fan speed manual. Then if your laptop has ventilation-intake which is quite a lot, try to use cooling-pad to cool your laptop.
