Considered Plagiarism, PUBG Corp. Demands Game Maker Rules of Survival
Games with the battle royale genre are indeed popular right now, like PUBG or Fortnite for example. Even so, PUBG is the most in-demand battle royale game for now, it’s no wonder that the concept of this game is being followed by other games. The games in question are Rules of Survival and Knives Out, which PUBG Corp. accused of plagiarism.
PUBG Corp. has filed a lawsuit against NetEase, the game publisher of Rules of Survival and Knives Out. The Chinese publisher was sued because the two games plagiarized the PUBG game. The lawsuit was filed through a Northern California court.
The PUBG Corp. said that there were 25 PUBG game patents that were plagiarized by the two games owned by NetEase, starting in terms of gameplay, choice of weapons, even the term PUBG-style victory moment.
PUBG Corp actually took the first route via email to ask the App Store, which is Apple’s Digital Store, to revoke the availability of Rules of Survival and Knives Out due to the same accusation, but NetEase rejected the request and denied the accusation.
