Witnessed by 1 Million Viewers, Grand Master Irene Forced the Fan God to Give Up Three Times in a row

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Grand Master of female chess from Indonesia, Irene Kharisma Sukandar, has proven her ability to be truly authentic on the chessboard. Facing a hobby chess player who suddenly went viral, Dadang Subur, Irene was able to beat the Fan God with a score of 3-0.

The match, which was promoted by Deddy Corbuzier, was broadcast live on Monday (22/3/2021) on Deddy Corbuzier’s Youtube account and reached a peak viewer of more than 1 million viewers. Deddy himself did not expect that the number of viewers would reach 1 million viewers. This is expected to be able to revive people’s passion for the sport of chess.

In the match which started at 15:00 WIB, the game between Grand Master Irene vs Dewa Kipas was held according to the standards of the world chess sports federation (FIDE) and Percasi. The fights are held in 4 rounds of fast chess system, with each round lasting 10 minutes.

In the first round, Irene, who got the white pawn’s turn, went first. With Caro-Kann’s opening strategy, initially Dadang was still able to keep up with Irenen’s game. However, due to the fast game system that was implemented, Dadang finally made a blunder and lost his elephant. Soon Dadang gave up and Irene got the opening point.

In the second half, it was Dadang’s turn to go first with the white pawn. Dadang tried to take the initiative to attack with his horse steps. But after the fifth minute, Dadang started wasting time when he actually saved his horse. Again, the Fan God made a blunder until he finally gave up and gave Irene victory.

Irene, who only needed one more point to win the match, appeared relaxed in the third round. Again getting her turn to go first with the white piece, Irene again managed to get all her pieces out first to strategize the attack. Dadang made another blunder in the fourth minute, when he moved the elephant wrong. As a result, Dadang gave up again and Irene won 3-0.

After the match, Dadang, who previously wanted to prove himself by defeating Irene, finally acknowledged the greatness of the Grand Master. The Fan God admitted he made a lot of blunders and did not master fast chess matches. In fact, according to statistics on Chess.com itself, Dadang is used to playing rapid chess.

“I really accept this defeat. I’ve lost 0-3, Irene does have a very strong and impenetrable defense,” said Dadang Subur.

Meanwhile, Irene herself assessed that Dadang had decent abilities, although not yet comparable to himself and his colleagues at the National Training Center. Even though she won, Irene hoped that this match would be a place of friendship and not blasphemy against each other.

For this victory, Irene received a prize of Rp. 200 million, while Dadang Subur was entitled to take home a prize of Rp. 100 million. The victory was questioned after Dadang Subur was deemed fraudulent which led to the blocking of the Dewa_Kipas account by Chess.com.
