What is Genshin Impact Pre-Download? What function?
Genshin Impact will be doing a big update tomorrow (23 December 2021). In the 1.2 Genshin Impact update, there will be a new system that makes it easier for Genshin Impact players.
That is the Pre-Download feature where you can download the game first before tomorrow’s update. But before that, you have to update your launcher. After that a new option will appear for Pre-Download/Pre-Installation.
So, when you update tomorrow you only need to extract the game that you downloaded earlier.
No need to re-download the next day. It will also speed up your enjoyment of the 1.2 Genshin Impact update where the first banner will release the character Albedo.

In the video, it is also explained that the size to be downloaded is around 3 GB even though the disk requires or storage required is around 7 GB.
And when you download this Pre-Install, you can still play your Genshin Impact, although it might affect your ping when you play.
So, it is highly recommended to use a good internet so that it does not interfere when you play.
Note, for the new pre-install can only be done for the PC. For Mobile, you can’t and have to wait tomorrow when the maintenance is finished.
