Welcome Dawnbreaker, Dota 2's Newest Hero

GAMEFINITY.ID, Salatiga – The release of new heroes every year has become a tradition in Dota 2. After yesterday Valve released Hoodwink at the end of last year, Valve has now announced a new hero, Dawnbreaker. Dawnbreaker itself is one part of the many feature changes in Patch 7.29.

So what kind of hero is Dawnbreaker? So what skills does it have? Well, let’s peel this one female knight.

Hero Design

Dawnbreaker is a Melee Strength Hero described by Icefrog as Carry-Durable. This hero is designed with a theme like the knight of light in Greek or Roman mythology. The design of Dawnbreaker itself is almost similar to the Omniknight where the Omniknight is also a light knight who uses a hammer weapon. In addition, these two heroes have similar roles, namely as tankers and healers.

Skillset

Ultimate Skill from Dawnbreaker, Solar Guardian

The skillset of Dawnbreaker prioritizes strong initiation and defense. The Dawnbreaker skillset is perfect for unlocking and wreaking havoc during teamfights.

Dawnbreaker’s first skill is named Starbreaker. Dawnbreaker swings his hammer 3 times and then on the last blow Dawnbreaker gives a stun effect and bonus damage to enemies in front of him. This skill is physical so it can penetrate magic immunity except for the stun effect on the last blow.

Dawnbreaker’s second skill is named Celestial Hammer. Dawnbreaker throws his hammer and deals damage to enemies in his path. After 2 seconds the Dawnbreaker hammer will return to Dawnbreaker’s hands and leave a trail that causes slow and DPS effects to the enemy. Dawnbreaker can summon the hammer at any time, pulling it towards the hammer so that it meets in the middle.

Dawnbreaker’s third skill is Luminosity. This skill is passive so it doesn’t need to be activated. Dawnbreaker receives additional critical damage and heal effects after successfully hitting the enemy 3 times.

Then the Ultimate Skill is Solar Guardian. Dawnbreaker jumps far towards a friend’s hero and gives a heal effect to a friend’s hero and damage and stun effects to enemies around him. This skill is channeling, but cannot be undone after casting.

Stats and Roles

Based on his stats and skillset, Dawnbreaker is very suitable to be played as an Offlaner. This is because as a Strength hero, Dawnbreaker is certainly equipped with a high base HP and HP regen to survive in Offlane. In addition, his skillset that provides heal and damage makes him solid in Offlane solo nor dual lane. In midgame until lategame Dawnbreaker is tasked to become frontliner and confuse the enemy during teamfight.
