Valorant Earns More Revenue than CSGO in January 2021

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Valorant successfully beat the revenue of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in early 2021. Not only that, for the first time since its launch in June 2021, Valorant became the best-selling FPS game on the PC Platform beating CSGO and Fortnite.

According to a report from Superdata, Valorant’s total revenue was up 39 percent, with player numbers up 29 percent from December to January. With very low system requirements and easy-to-understand mechanics, this game is an instant hit in the FPS genre.

Even so, that does not mean anyone can immediately master the game. Because it takes hours of practice to master the different agents.

Riot is known for its ability to update its games and its regular communication with its community. Developers are very experienced at developing Free-2-Play game ideas and know how to convince users to shop through in-game purchases (microtransactions).

Although the game is only available on the PC platform, Riot is slowly making its way to consoles with the release of League of Legends Wild Rifts and more games are rumored to be in the works.

Currently, battle royale games such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Fortnite, and Apex Legends still dominate the FPS genre on consoles. If Riot comes to consoles through Valorant, it is not impossible that there will be a new leader in the FPS genre on consoles by the end of this year.
