US YouTuber Creates Giant Nintendo Switch to Donate

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – An American YouTuber has created the world’s largest Nintendo Switch and donated it to a local children’s hospital. Measuring 70 by 30 inches and weighing nearly 30kg, the giant console is estimated to be 650 percent larger than the regular Nintendo Switch.

This massive piece of hardware was made by Michael Pick, who shared a video detailing its build on YouTube last weekend. Pick created a giant Switch so it could be donated to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Kids love it! Honestly, that’s the best part of this work,” said Michael Pick, quoted from the Video Games Chronicle.

As shown in the video, every button on the Switch’s giant Joy-Cons stick works fine, including the shoulder and joystick buttons. Players can also use external controllers to play.

This giant Switch works by hiding the Switch and television mounted on a regular dock inside his house. The regular-sized Switch Joy-Cons have been housed in a 3D-printed stand, which uses a physical lever to press a button when the giant version interacts with it.

Meanwhile, a giant joystick is mounted on top of the actual Joy-Con stick and works by moving the actual input. Pick says that it inserts chargers into the Joy-Con cradles, so they don’t run out of battery power in the giant case.

“I really like the Nintendo Switch. It’s small, portable… but very easy to lose, and for me that’s a problem. So I decided to fix it by making something a little bigger, and a little harder to lose.”
