Ubisoft Delays Remake of Prince of Persia Sands of Time
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Ubisoft has postponed the release of Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake for the second time. Originally slated for release in January 2021 before being delayed to mid-March due to the “Covid-19 situation”, the game will now be releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC at a “later future”.
In a statement, the development team said it had received input from fans since announcing plans for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in September. This encourages them to continue to create the best games.
“Therefore, we have made the decision to move the release of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date. This extra development time will allow our team to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining true to the original.”
“We understand this update may come as a surprise and we will keep you updated on the progress of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. In the meantime, we would like to thank all of you for your support so far. ”
Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake was in development two and a half years when it was revealed in September 2021. Following criticism over its graphics, the game’s director said Ubisoft had chosen to give the remake a “unique visual treatment” to set it apart from other games.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2003) received critical acclaim, as well as being nominated and winning numerous awards. This game is also considered one of the best video games of all time, and was adapted in a film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton in 2010.
