The Kick Off of the 2021 Esports President's Cup Held Lively

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The 2021 Esports Presidential Cup (PPE) Opening Ceremony or Kick Off took place majestically and raised artistic concepts that showed various natural, cultural, and noble values of the Indonesian nation.

The opening ceremony of the 2021 Esports President’s Cup which was broadcast on NET TV on Saturday (9/10) marked the start of a series of matches which were attended by more than 61,784 Indonesian esports athletes and the number will continue to grow.

Attending and opening the tournament series were Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Deputy II of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Abetnego Tarigan, Acting Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Tursandi Alwi, Deputy Chairman of PB Esports Indonesia (PBESI) Inspector General (Pol) Andean Bonar Sitinjak, Director of BCA Santoso, and others.

As is known, the 2021 Esports Presidential Cup is a collaborative work between the Presidential Staff Office, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, KONI, and PBESI.

On that occasion, Sandiaga also announced that the Grand Final of the 2021 Esports President Cup in December will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali.

“The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is proud to announce that the tourist destination which will be the location of the main event for the 2021 Esports President Cup will be held on the Island of the Gods, Bali. Bali is expected to represent the natural beauty and culture of Indonesia. With a positive spirit, we also hope that the Covid-19 pandemic can be more under control,” said Sandiaga in his remarks.

Sandiaga said the Bali election could not be separated from the government’s efforts to restore the tourism sector, which had been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.

By accommodating the natural beauty and culture of Indonesia, especially Bali to the 2021 Esports Presidential Cup stage, it is hoped that it will become an attraction and open the eyes of the foreign esports public to Indonesia.

Not long ago Bali was also named the world’s most popular destination this year by TripAdvisor in the Travelers Choice award for the Best of the Best 2021 category.

Bali is in the top position beating other tourist destinations, such as London, Dubai, Rome, Hanoi, and Bangkok.

He added that esports is a sport that has experienced a significant increase during the pandemic.

The Southeast Asian esports industry is estimated to gain an increase in fans and a potential revenue of up to 4.4 billion USD.

“Thus, we hope that the 2021 Esports Presidential Cup will bring in esports tourism-based tourists. This event is expected to open up investors’ interest to enter, so that there will be more gamers, event organizers and the esports ecosystem to stimulate the economy and create the widest possible employment opportunities,” he said.

The holding of the 2021 Esports Presidential Cup carries the artistic concept of “Land of Wonders” which aims to introduce various cultures, natural beauty, and noble values that are the identity of the Indonesian nation.

The Chief Executive of the 2021 Esports Presidential Cup Rangga Danu Prasetyo explained, after the kick off, the tournament will enter matches in the qualifying round for six game branches, namely eFootball PES, Free Fire, Lokapala (local game), Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile and MPL Gaming. .

The qualifying round will last until November 28 and is divided into six regional regions, namely; Regional Sumatra, Regional Kalimantan, Regional Sulawesi, Regional Java, Regional Bali NTT NTB, and Regional Maluku Papua.
