Team17 Celebrate Worms 25th Birthday

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Team17 celebrates the 25th anniversary of their iconic franchise, Worms on Tuesday (11/17/2021). In celebration, Team17 offers a number of promotions for gamers who are loyal to playing the fighting worms in the tactical artillery genre game.

Worms was first launched on November 17, 1995 on the Commodore Amiga and has sold more than 75 million copies with various different installations. Initially, the creator of this game Andy Davidson gave the title Total Wormage. As Retro Gamer explains, Davidson had been working on the game almost alone for five years before it was released commercially. Team17 CEO, Debbie Bestwick MBE said Worms have become the heart of Team17.

“For many years now, in our successful period as a game publishing label, these little fighting creatures have become an important part of our DNA. It’s a series that gamers of all ages have loved for decades, with a lasting appeal even when explored and played with new experiences,” said Debbie as quoted by the Video Games Chronicle.

“Watching the series evolve over the years has been an incredible journey to share with the most passionate and vocal community in gaming. It’s for the success of Worms for another 25 years!”

Team17 celebrates the anniversary of Worms by offering a wide selection of Worms games with discounts of up to 80 percent in the new Team17 Store. An additional 10 percent discount code will be available via Team17’s social media channels. They also announced that three series of the game: Worms, Worms Armageddon, and Worms Blast, will launch to the Evercade console platform in 2021.

Team17 also provides memorabilia in the form of a special set of pin badges from Pinfinity. This Pin showing the development of the Worm over the years is available for pre-order. Meanwhile, the latest Worms series, Worms Rumble will be released on December 1 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
