Before Buying Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5, Consider The Following

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Microsoft and Sony will launch their newest game consoles, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in November. Microsoft will launch Xbox Series X/S on November 10, while Sony will launch PS5 two days later, November 12. Before buying one of these consoles, there are a few things that gamers should consider. Of course, both consoles have their advantages and disadvantages, it’s just a matter of how gamers adapt them to the playing needs of gamers.

From an engine perspective, there’s actually no difference between the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. Both use the same type of processor (CPU), namely AMD Zen 2 8-core. However, there are certain games that can only be played on one console (exclusive) and cannot be played on other consoles. Some games that are exclusive to the PS5 include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon II: Forbidden West. There are several games that are exclusively available on Xbox Series X such as Halo Infinite, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Forza Motorsport 8 and State of Decay 3.

The best way to decide which console is better for you to choose is to check out what games they have to offer and if it is a favorite game or one you are waiting for. Also keep in mind, while Microsoft promises Xbox Series X/S can play all Xbox One games and some Xbox 360 and original Xbox games (backwards compatibility), Sony only promises “almost” all Playstation 4 games can be played on PlayStation 5. While PS5 certainly cannot play games from previous generation consoles (PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Playstation).

Also decide whether you prefer to play with physical copy (disk) or digital. The reason is, both the PlayStation and Xbox both offer a standard edition with a disc or a digital edition. If users prefer to boot games from discs like playing original games from Playstation or Xbox in the early generations, then the standard PS5 or Xbox Series X deserves to be an option. Yes, buying physical copies of games sometimes brings satisfaction, especially when gamers can line up a collection of discs in one collection rack. In addition, gamers can also sell the game disc if they have finished or are bored with the game.

However, if users don’t want to overload their storage space at home, then buying digital games can also be an option. Gamers also don’t need to worry if the disc is damaged and cannot be used, because they already have a digital copy of the game. Thus the PS5 Digital Edition or Xbox Series S could be the best choice. The digital edition console is also cheaper than the standard edition if the user is planning to save some money.

Lastly, also pay attention to whether you will be playing the game console alone or with friends or relatives. Each console only offers one controller in the purchase package. For that, if you want to play together, it’s a good idea to buy a bundle package that provides two controllers, which usually offer more efficient prices than buying controllers separately.

Congratulations on waiting for the release of the two next generation consoles!
