Tangerang Becomes the City with the Fastest Mobile Internet in Indonesia According to Ookla

GAMEFINITY.ID, Salatiga – Internet speed measurement service provider, Speedtest by Ookla recorded the 10 cities with the highest internet speeds in Indonesia in the Speedtest Global Index data.

The speed measurement by Ookla is divided into two types, namely mobile connection and fixed broadband or fixed cable internet network.

As a result, Tangerang City was ranked first as the city with the highest mobile internet speed in Indonesia. For the fixed broadband category, the highest internet speed is held by Jakarta.

Tangerang shows an average cellular internet download speed of 24.69 Mbps and an average upload speed of 14.85 Mbps.

Then in second place is occupied by Jakarta with a download speed of 23.94 Mbps and an upload speed of 13.23 Mbps. And in third place followed by Bekasi City with a download speed of 23.48 Mbps and an upload speed of 14.09 Mbps.

For the fixed broadband category, Jakarta holds the first position with an average download speed of 32.86 Mbps and upload of 23.58 Mbps. Then followed by Depok with a download speed of 29.77 Mbps and an upload speed of 15.85 Mbps.

Meanwhile, based on the June 2021 Speedtest Global Index, Indonesia’s overall mobile internet speed reached 22.14 Mbps.

In the Speedtest Global Index, Indonesia is now ranked 104th out of 137 countries in the Mobile Connection category and 116th out of 180 countries in the Fixed Broadband category.

Indonesia is ranked 104th and 116th with an average internet speed of around 22.14 Mbps for Mobile and 26.17 Mbps for Fixed Broadband.
