Sony discontinues PS4 repair, will it be implemented worldwide?
Before Sony could announce the price and release date of the Playstation 5, Sony Japan stopped the repair service from the Playstation 4 (PS4).
A few days ago Sony just released their new gaming device, namely Playstation 5. They themselves have also released prices for this latest type of Playstation. Playstation 5 will be divided into two editions, namely Digital Edition and Original Edition.
What distinguishes these two versions is how the players will enjoy the game they have. The digital version, players will only be able to enjoy all the games they buy through the Playstation Store only.
However, for the physical version, players are given the opportunity to move the game that the player has in the game Playstation 4 to digital form.
However, there is shocking news for you owners Playstation 4. Reportedly for those of you who have an older model of this console, Sony no longer provides repair services. This announcement was made the day before they released the price of the Playstation 5.
This cessation of repair services is specifically for two older models of Playstation 4, namely the CUH-1000 and CUH-1100 models. Online repair requests will still be accepted on December 25, 2021.
The console itself must be sent to the company until January 8, 2021 to be able to get a repair.
The reason for discontinuing this repair service is due to the depletion of stock from parts these two models. The CUH-1000 and CUH-1100 models themselves are the very first models released by Sony since 2021.
With this announcement, it will be difficult for those who have these two older models.
This announcement is confirmed from the official twitter account Playstation Japan and also the official site Playstation Japan. Fortunately, this discontinuation of repair services will only be implemented in Japan. There is no confirmation yet whether the outage will also be implemented worldwide.
