Riot Announces First LoL Wild Rift Tournament, In Indonesia?

Finally the first official League of Legends Wild Rift professional tournament has been announced by Riot Games.

The tournament will be held in early 2021 and will be Riot Games’ inaugural Wild Rift tournament.

Through its twitter channel, Riot Games Japan has announced their collaboration with Japanese telecommunications company NTT DoCoMo to hold a LoL WR tournament.

NTT Docomo is one of the providers from Japan that will support 5G networks, and as Spinners knows smartphones with 5G networks have the capacity to provide smoother gaming sessions without lagging.

“NTT DoCo (@docomo) announces partnership with Riot Games‼ The tournament is scheduled to be held in 2021! The details will be announced at a later date!”

With Wild Rift’s open beta active in Japan since October 27, the game has garnered enough interest for DoCoMo to earn league rights in 2021.

Will Indonesia have a Wild Rift Tournament from Riot too?

Unfortunately, there has been no news from Riot Games whether Indonesia will get an official tournament that will be directly supported by Riot itself.

Even so, Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest mobile esports following in the world.

Therefore, it is not surprising that Riot will hold official tournaments in Indonesia and Southeast Asia in the near future.
