Riot Dota, Riot Announces Animated Series League of Legends

GAMEFINITY.ID, Salatiga – The competition between Dota 2 and League of Legends is heating up. After previously Dota 2 released the animated series Dota: Dragon’s Blood, now League of Legends will also release an animated series.

On May 3, 2021, Riot released a teaser video and announcement about the animated series League of Legends: Arcane. This 19-second video shows some footage from the League of Legends: Arcane series along with a number of characters who will be present to fill this series.

Plot League of Legends : Arcane

In the teaser trailer, two Champions are shown, namely Jinx and Vi. The rivalry of these two characters is rumored to be the center of the story of League of Legends: Arcane.

Riot takes the main place setting in the cities of Piltover and Zaun. The two cities are said to be in conflict with each other due to social inequality. The city of Zaun itself is the hometown of Jinx and Vi and tells how these two characters live and grow in the city of Zaun and their journey to the city of Piltover.

Besides Jinx and Vi, Champions who will fill LoL: Arcane are Warwick and Caitlyn. Some other Champions that are likely to appear are Viktor, Blitzcrank and Ziggs.

Production and Animation

In terms of production, Riot again collaborates with Fortiche Production in the production of LoL: Arcane animation. Previously Fortiche Production had worked on various LoL promotional videos such as RISE : Worlds 2021, WARRIORS : World 2021 and of course, MV POP/STARS by K/DA.

Unlike Dota: Dragon’s Blood, LoL: Arcane will use full 3D animation compared to Dragons’ Blood which uses 2D. In addition, Riot targets an audience of teenagers around 14 years and over. In contrast to Dota whose target audience is an adult audience of 21 years and over.

The League of Legends: Arcane series is set to premiere in late 2021 on the Netflix streaming platform.
