Review: NYK Nemesis GP-100 Gambit, Ergonomic Gamepad at Minimalist Price

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Gamepads or controllers have become an alternative to support the fun of playing games. If PC gamers are tired of just using a mouse and keyboard, they usually start looking for gamepads, especially in playing games that are also released on console platforms. In this article, will discuss the NYK Nemesis GP-100 Gambit wired gamepad.

NYK itself has been known to often showcase its innovations in the gaming world through its products. After previously having flagship products in mice, keyboards and headsets, now NYK is trying to penetrate the gamepad market with the NYK Gambit.

So what is the impression of when playing the Grand Theft Auto V game with this gamepad? Check out the following review.

Design

When unboxing the product, the NYK Nemesis GP-100 Gambit comes with a warranty card affixed to the back of the box. Inside the gamepad is neatly wrapped and the cables are well arranged. There is no manual or other information in the box.

The design of the NYK Gambit is at first glance similar to a gamepad or Xbox 360 controller, with the left stick positioned on top, while the D-pad on the bottom. This makes the NYK Gambit more Xbox Friendly than gamers who usually play PlayStation consoles.

GP-100 is made with an ergonomic design and comfortable to use, according to the size of the hand in general. This supports gamers who usually spend hours playing, so that their hands don’t get tired easily because they have to be nimble to press buttons.

With the black color plus the Blue LED feature, coupled with the orange color on the left and right sticks, try to display an elegant gaming impression in this NYK Gambit design. There is a NYK Nemesis logo located on the right, as well as the words Power Gaming which glows blue when the controller is connected to a PC device.

Feature

NYK Gambit is a wired game controller, with 360 Degree Joystick. For connectivity, the GP-100 uses a responsive USB interface. This gamepad has a cable length of 2 meters, so gamers do not need to be too close to the monitor and PC when playing games with this gamepad.

The NYK Gambit also has a blue LED Light, which glows when connected to a PC. This NYK gamepad uses a plastic material for its body, which makes this gamepad feel light and makes gamers not tired when they have to lift it when playing for hours.

The GP-100 is also equipped with a double vibration motor, so gamers will feel the vibrations that are adjusted to the sequence of the game. The NYK Nemesis GP-100 Gambit also supports analog and digital modes, and can be used on Android devices, PCs (Windows 7/8/10), Smart TVs and PS3s.

Experience

When the NYK Gambit tried to play GTA V, most of the buttons on the GP-100 felt very solid and fit well. It’s just that the trigger button does feel a bit unresponsive, where the R2 button must be pressed deep enough to function. This can interfere with the comfort of playing, especially when playing race or driving mode which can cause fingers to tire easily.

Meanwhile, the glossy front of the gamepad also seems slippery when used for hours, especially by gamers whose hands sweat easily. This deficiency is treated with a double grip on the back which is quite sticky in the hand.

Blue LED works well, with a dim light (breathing) according to the built-in features of the gamepad. It’s just that the Nemesis logo and the words Power Gaming are also lit, seem too big and a bit redundant. Moreover, when used, these two glowing writings will also be covered by hands.

The most noticeable drawback when trying out this gamepad is the vibration feature that doesn’t fit, it doesn’t feel like the vibration on a console gamepad in general. This is indeed often a disease of this NYK Gambit gamepad.
