Review : Lokapala, Local Moba with International Flavor
GAMEFINITY.ID, Tanjung Balai Karimun – Maybe some of you already know about this one game, yes this MOBA game developed by game developer from Indonesia Anantarupa Studios, named Lokapala: Saga of The Six Realms, this one game carries the same theme as Moba games in general, but of course with very Indonesian culture.
Debuting by releasing a beta stage on May 20 last year, this Lokapala game gave a new color to the MOBA game industry, Lokapala managed to bring Indonesian culture into the game by presenting characters based on myths and cultures that developed in the archipelago.
Since the initial release of the beta stage, this game has continued to get updates which are certainly getting better, so what has developed from this game after approximately 1 year of release in the global game market? has made a review, just watch it, enjoy it!
Features (9/10)
For games with MOBA themes, Lokapala already has quite complete features. This proves that this game was developed very well by Anantarupa. For the languages that can be selected, currently there are only two languages that can be used, namely Indonesian and English.
We will discuss a little more deeply about the features in this Lokapala game,
Lobby
Just like other MOBAs, when we log in for the first time in this game, we will be given some free Knights (heroes). Here the author gets a knight named Sena and also Jinno, most likely the knight given to all new players will be the same.
The lobby display of the Lokapala game can be said to be 98% the same as other MOBA games, such as Mobile Legend/AOV, and according to the author, the menu on the lobby page is quite complete, starting from the menu for player profiles, the menu for the shop, skills , inventory and also existing events.
And of course the appearance in this lobby does not make players dizzy with the existing interface, the placement of the menu that is not messy and neat really makes players feel comfortable and not confused to find the desired menu. Because there are several cases of MOBA games that don’t pay attention to this, just because they want to provide a myriad of features to the point of forgetting the convenience of players. And Lokapala managed to handle this well.
Arrangement
In this settings menu itself there are several menus such as control settings, sound graphics and also to repeat existing tutorial videos. menus are available to set shadow, graphic quality, network speed, language, in-game sound and also to bind and unbind your account.
And in the profile menu on the top left on the lobby page, there are several more menus such as, an overview of changing our avatar, name and achievements in the game. And in Lokapala, they also know the Merit system like Moba in general, but in this game it is called Karma, wow, that’s an Indonesian name.
Knights, Outlets, and Yantras
There are about 25 Ksatriya/Heroes in this Lokapala game, and it’s quite unfortunate, from these 25 heroes there are many Indonesian Ksatriyas who were not included for the initial release, from 25 Kshatriyas, the author only sees three knights who have very Indonesian character designs, namely Guning (Fighter), Nio (Marksman), and H’rtal (Mage).
The Ksatriya characters are told to come from 6 different loka which are incorporated into one Lokapala, namely Narakaloka, Pretaloka, Tiraccanaloka, Manusyaloka, Asuraloka, and Svargaloka.
The skins in this game are still limited, from 25 ksatriyas, there are only about 13 skins from these 13 skins which are further divided into 3 types of skins, namely Seatma skin, Dvanda, New Year Special and also Back To School. One thing that is quite unique about this game is that there is a feature for players to be able to rent existing skins, to be able to rent these skins, players are required to pay with an item called Citrine.
Lokapala also has a feature to do Build Items for players just like MOBA games in general, in Lokapala this feature is called Yantra, there are various attributes and items that you can create creatively to support your gameplay.
Events, Daily Missions
For the event itself, Anantarupa seems to be quite diligent in presenting events, almost every month there is always an event that takes place in this Lokapala game, and for daily missions, it is quite easy to complete.
Player Rankings
Just like competitive games in general, in this Lokapala game there is also a Ranked system, there are about 7 ranks that players can achieve by increasing points in ranked games, these 7 ranks have names that seem to use Sanskrit, namely, Ardarathi, Rathi, Ekarathi , Arirathi, Maharathi, Atimaharati and the highest is Mahamaharathi.
Gameplay (8/10)
For gameplay, why did the author only give a score of 8, because according to the author there is nothing special about the gameplay of this Lokapala game, all the elements and features in the gameplay are the same as other MOBA games, the only difference being the items and buffs in it.
The objective is of course the same as other MOBA games, namely destroying the enemy’s main Turrent. What is quite disturbing to the eye according to the author is that the object used to hide is a mushroom, if in general we see the object is a tall grass, in this Lokapala game, mushrooms are used.
This is certainly a bit strange for players who have played other MOBAs such as Mobile Legend. The author doesn’t know what the purpose of the developer is to choose to use Mushrooms as an object to hide, perhaps as a form that Lokapala is “different” from other MOBAs.
Graphics (7/10)
From the beginning of the beta release of this Lokapala game, one thing that has not been fixed by the developer is the animation of the characters used by the players, the 3D graphics that seem stiff and the character models that are less realistic, have made the author give a score of 7 for the graphics.
The use of color for the map in the game is too stiff and objects such as rocks, small grass, etc., don’t seem to blend with the map itself. For this graphic the author understands because this game is still new, and needs further development from the developer itself. Very high appreciation from the author for this Lokapala game developer.
Control (8/10)
Moving on to the control section in the game, according to the author, the controls owned by this game are very good, yes, the analog and buttons for doing Attacking are quite responsive, and the movements of the existing characters also don’t feel limited.
The location of the shop to buy items in the game is almost the same as other MOBAs, what is quite disturbing is the delay in the game when players issue skills, at first I thought the slow network caused this, but apparently this delay has occurred since the beginning of the beta launch. of this game.
This delay is really annoying, because every time you issue a skill, often the skill that is issued doesn’t hit the enemy, even though it’s been pointed right at the enemy.
Addictive (6/10)
From all the features, gameplay, graphics and controls presented by Lokapala, this game makes the author less able to get the feel of playing in this game, especially for the delay that really interferes with the game.
This really makes this Lokapala game a game that is not suitable to be played continuously, the features provided are already very comfortable for the players, but the lack of gameplay and control, of course, makes players reluctant to play this game continuously. Therefore, the author gives a score of 6 for its addictiveness.
However, if the developer fixes the problem of delay skills in the game and we forget about the delay, the author gives a score of 9 for this game, and because you will get a thick Indonesian feel in this game, coupled with a soundtrack that really describes Indonesia at all. . And the author highly recommends this game to enter the game that you deserve to play to accompany your ngabuburit.
Conclusion
Anantarupa’s decision to develop this game is the right decision, this game provides a new color for the current game development, especially in Indonesia, all the features that carry the Indonesian theme really make Indonesia’s name known by the industry and world gamers.
There is a writer’s hope for this game to be able to grow, server improvements and problems contained in the game can be overcome, which is really awaited by loyal MOBA game players. And from all the existing reviews, the author gives a rating 7.6 for the game Lokapala: Saga of The Six Realms. Hopefully in the future the Indonesian game market will grow again, and the name of Indonesia will be even more fragrant in the international game world.
