PMPL ID S3 Country Finals GEEK FAM Grabs the Champion Throne and Continues to PMPL SEA Championship

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – GEEK FAM just ended their journey and took their throne in the PUBG MOBILE Pro League Indonesia Season 3 tournament with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Series 5G as the official player device. Over 3 days and 18 fierce rounds, GEEK FAM was the team with the best and most consistent performances that earned 213 points and 3 WWCDs far outpacing the other 15 opposing teams. The efforts of Dinosaurs, Buubuu, Alvirlo, Tomz, Mort, and Katoulyssa during the early stages of the tournament to the country finals did not betray the results and the main prize received, which was USD 15,000 or equivalent to more than 200 million rupiah and the main ticket to PUBG MOBILE Pro League Southeast Asia Championship (PMPL SEA Championship) with 3 other teams in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Held on 21 – 23 May 2021, the PMPL SEA Championship will bring together 16 professional PUBG Mobile teams from all countries in Southeast Asia, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

First day

The first day of the country finals, GEEK FAM has started with a strong performance after winning the first WWCD after posting 11 kills on the first map of Sanhok. This second match was ONIC ESPORTS’ turn, which was already hot and immediately bought up WWCD with 14 kills. ONIC ESPORTS appeared dominant, leaving second place EAGLE 365 who collected 4 kills. Ranked 4th in the regular season, BOOM ESPORTS showed its readiness to face the country finals after capturing their first WWCD in the fifth round of the Miramar map. BOOM ESPORTS recorded 9 kills and 6 of them were the contribution of Hijrah’s performance which became the MVP match. The first day closed with a fair distribution of WWCD for 6 teams, however the country finals standings were led by one team that did not have WWCD at all, namely GENESIS DOGMA with 85 points followed by BIGETRON RED ALIENS with 77 points and 1 WWCD. Consistent performance and the most kills made GENESIS DOGMA able to compete ahead of other teams even without WWCD and brought important capital to face the country finals on the second day.

The second day

Not getting WWCD on the first day, VICTIM SOVERS immediately bought up two WWCDs in the first and fourth rounds. VICTIM SOVERS jumped to fourth place in the standings with a total of 108 points. In addition to VICTIM SOVERS, GEEK FAM became the second team to have 2 WWCD after adding to their victory in the second round of the Erangel map. For this addition, GEEK FAM displaces BIGETRON RED ALIENS from second place thanks to the acquisition of 131 points and 2 WWCD. With strong results from the first day, GENESIS DOGMA again gave an impressive performance and strengthened their position in the first rank. GENESIS DOGMA finally broke the egg by winning the first WWCD in the fifth round on the Miramar map, further cementing their position to 139 points and 1 WWCD.

The third day

The third day became the most crucial stage for all teams to catch up and strengthen their advantage on the standings. Slowly but surely, BIGETRON RED ALIENS heated up on the last day and managed to win two WWCDs in the first and sixth rounds. If BIGETRON RED ALIENS heats up, then AURA ESPORTS is on fire because they managed to achieve even more impressive results with 3 WWCDs in the second, fourth and fifth rounds. Unfortunately, the spike in performance was still overshadowed by GEEK FAM’s consistent performance, and even managed to steal one WWCD in the third round. The addition of one WWCD GEEK FAM made their point acquisition ahead of the leader of the standings during the first and second day of the country finals, namely GENESIS DOGMA who had to settle for fourth place with 160 points and 1 WWCD. Meanwhile, the regular season champion BIGETRON RED ALIENS must be willing to accept the runner up position with 206 points and 3 WWCD. Even though they did not win the PMPL ID S3, BIGETRON RED ALIENS is entitled to a prize of USD 10,000 or the equivalent of more than 140 million rupiah and a PUBG MOBILE Pro League Southeast Asia Championship (PMPL SEA Championship) ticket.

Closing the outstanding achievements by all participating teams, PUBG MOBILE gives special awards to players with the best individual performances. Zuxxy from BIGETRON RED ALIENS has been named the MVP of PMPL ID S3 after an impressive performance of buying a total of 33 kills, 7158 damage, and is entitled to a prize of USD 2,000 or the equivalent of more than 29 million rupiah.

Together with the end of the PMPL ID tournament, PUBG MOBILE recorded an audience participation of more than 450,000 viewers during the 3 days of the country finals. The increasing enthusiasm and participation of fans is expected to remain consistent and keep many supporters busy until the upcoming PMPL SEA Championship. Delivering tournament euphoria ahead of the PMPL SEA Championship, PUBG MOBILE will continue the cross country battle on April 24-25, which will pit the 4 best performing teams on the super weekend from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
