Pepsiman Classic Game Modder Remake with Ray Tracing Support

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Gamers of the 90s are certainly no stranger to the Pepsiman game. This game, which was released in 1999 for the PlayStation console, was very popular, not inferior to other legendary PS games such as Crash Bandicoot. With a light runner gameplay, where players only need to run to avoid obstacles to reach the goal, this game presents its own excitement for the players.

Unfortunately, Pepsiman is not developed further. There are no sequels or other games from the soft drink mascot. Even the developer company, KID (Kindle Imagine Develop) from Japan had gone out of business in 2006. Even so, Pepsiman still cannot be forgotten by his fans.

Recently, a creative modder released a gameplay video of the Pepsiman remake with modern Ray Tracing (RTX) technology a la modern PC and PS5 games. Ray Tracing is a 3D rendering technique for rendering realistic reflections, lights, and cinematic effects in games. Thus, the appearance of the game looks more similar to the real world.

In the video released on Banana Pictures’ Youtube channel, you can see all-new textures, shadows and lighting effects, with the modder doing his best to maintain the originality of the original game world. The video is the work of a Unity 3D game engine developer from the Reddit forum called gamerjv.

The released video covers a few minutes of the first two levels of the Pepsiman game. The Modder has done a great job translating Pepsiman’s original animation into the remake, especially when the mascot falls or slips.

Unfortunately, this demo is only a personal product and will not be released because the character and game rights are all property of the Pepsi company. However, BananaPictures, the modder behind the project has promised to share more updates on this remake and release more new videos.
