Patch Notes for VALORANT 1.12, Fix Issues in 1.11!

Riot will be releasing a small patch for their latest update after the release of the problematic Patch 1.11. Several in-game bugs escaped the loophole, resulting in a full re-release.

The developers have been forced to “re-evaluate” what it takes to “raise quality standards” over the next few days. And while they didn’t miss Patch 1.12, they did give it a “light touch”.

Updates to the Observer and social panels are the focus of Patch 1.12, in addition to a number of bug fixes.

Here is a complete list of updates for VALORANT Patch 1.12

COMPETITIVE MODE UPDATE

    • The Act Rank Badge will be disabled in-game while the developer investigates a potential issue that could result in impaired in-game performance.
    • The Act Rank Badge will still be displayed in the Competitive lobby, map load and end-game screens.

GAME SYSTEM UPDATE

Observer/Observer

    • The observer no longer hears the ping sound
    • Improved viewing angle visibility in well-lit areas
    • Added Game Status Modification trick so that moderators can adjust various aspects of the game (player stats, money, etc.) in tournament settings
    • Fixed team color change recall from patch 1.11
      • This caused confusion as people began to recognize red as attacker and green as defense.
      • There is a bug that causes certain UI elements to be displayed in the wrong color
      • Riot plans to bring this feature back in the future once it completes adding support for custom team colors

SOCIAL UPDATES

  • Riot has redesigned the Group Open/Close switch to make it easier for players to understand if they are in an open/closed group
  • Observers are now shown as “in-game” in social panels
  • Observers can now see and type in chat /all in-game custom

GAME PERFORMANCE

  • Added new user interface for custom game watchers during character selection

BUGS FIX

    • Fixed a bug that caused exiting/disconnecting from Custom Games resulting in an error VAL-51, which required the game to be remade in order for players to rejoin.
    • Fixed a bug in the game’s end screen after an Icebox match showing the Haven map and an incorrect time marker
    • Fixed an issue where players could target weapons that were flying in the air (dropped) with certain abilities
    • Left-handed mode: fixed recoil animation that mirrored incorrectly (does not match actual weapon recoil)
    • Fixed Observer UI overlapping when player placing/taming
    • Fixed inconsistent team colors on minimap ping
    • Fixed a rare issue where the Viewer’s camera transition visuals could get stuck when switching between player views
