Older than Indonesia, New PS5 Released in February in India

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Sony Corp said it will launch the PlayStation 5 in India in early February this year. The release schedule for the next generation console is longer than Sony’s plan to release the PS5 in Indonesia, January 22, 2021.

“We are pleased to announce PS5 will launch in India on February 2, 2021,” said the PlayStation India Twitter account, reported by Reuters.

Sony is holding PS5 pre-orders in India starting January 12, partnering with major retailers including Amazon and Flipkart. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the PlayStation 5 has been available to order since mid-December, at Urban Republic, a subsidiary of the Erajaya Group.

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will retail for IDR 7,299,000, while the Ultra HD Blu-Ray version will cost IDR 8,799,000. Pre-orders in Indonesia last until January 21, for now there is no information on when the console will start shipping to consumers.

Previously, the PlayStation 5 officially launched on November 12 in the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. While in several other countries, the PS5 will only be released later or 19 November.
