Official, Here Are the Games That Will Be Competed at the SEA Games Hanoi 2021

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The 2021 SEA Games Vietnam will be held from November 21 to December 2. This time, Esports will be competing again and fighting for medals. A total of nine game numbers will be contested, three more than the events of the previous two years.

Just like at the 2021 Philippines SEA Games, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Arena of Valor will be competing again. While the other seven numbers are games that are competed for the first time in an event like the SEA Games.

Officially, the nine game numbers contested are as follows:

  • Arena of Valor (Mobile)
  • PUBG Mobile – Team
  • PUBG Mobile – Individual
  • FreeFire (Mobile)
  • League of Legends (PC)
  • League of Legends: Wild Rift (Men and Women’s)
  • FIFA Online 4 (PC)
  • Crossfire (PC)
  • Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (Mobile)

The official announcement of the Esports numbers to be competed at the SEA Games Hanoi 2021 was announced through the VIRESA website and read by Joebert Yu, Deputy Secretary General at the Philippine Electronic Sports Organization (PESO).

Thus, the four games previously played in the Philippines 2021 will not be contested again. The four are Dota 2, Starcraft II, Hearthstone, and Tekken.

The popularity of MLBB in Southeast Asia does not need to be doubted. Likewise with AOV, which does have a fairly large community base in ASEAN, even though Indonesian gamers have started to abandon it.

At the 2021 SEA Games, the host team from the Philippines won gold, while Indonesia won silver. While the Thai team won the gold medal in the AOV number two years ago, while Indonesia also won the silver.

Esports itself is one of the relatively new numbers to be competed in at the Southeast Asian sporting event. This number has only started to be competed officially in 2021, after previously being a demonstration event at the 2021 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.

Esports will also be contested at the upcoming 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. The world’s esports community hopes that this branch will be competed in the biggest sporting event, the Olympics.
