Microsoft Holds Microsoft Excel Esports Competition
GAMEFINITY.ID, Purworejo – Esports as we know it may usually use competitive games such as Apex Legends, CS:GO and Dota 2. Or on mobile platforms, usually use games such as Mobile Legends, PUBGM, or Free Fire. But can you believe that Microsoft Excel has also become an esports?
It’s hard to understand, but it’s true. Technically, Microsoft Excel itself is not a sport to be played, but a financial modeling done using Microsoft Excel.
And recently, Microsoft Excel’s official Twitter account has claimed that financial modeling is an esports. They also promote a financial modeling competition using Microsoft Excel called the Financial Modeling World Cup (FMWC).
Financial modeling as an e-sport. Watch eight top financial modelers around the world work their mad #Excel skills on June 8 at 12 PM UTC. Find out more (and check out the merch): https://t.co/GqkmWjSFOo

But before that, what is financial modeling? According to Investopedia, financial modeling is the process of making a summary of a company’s expenses and revenues in the form of a spreadsheet that can be used to calculate the impact of future events or decisions.
The Financial Modeling World Cup itself will be attended by eight participants from eight countries. Each participant will be given 40 minutes to complete a question that has been prepared by the organizing committee. Participants will be asked to solve problems by making a financial model and answering several questions related to the model.
Later the financial model results from the participants will be shared with the audience. So you can learn the tricks that Excel masters use in financial modeling.
This competition will be held under the concept of ‘Multiplayer Battle’ on 8 June and will be broadcast live from FMWC’s official Youtube channel. So for those of you who are interested, you can watch it live, especially if you are an accountant, it will be very useful.
