Mario's 35th Birthday Celebration Ends in March, Nintendo Withdraws Some Special Products

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Nintendo will stop selling some special Mario 35th birthday products, after the Nintendo mascot’s birthday celebration ends in March 2021. The birthday special products have previously been circulating since September 2021, as part of Mario’s birthday celebrations. Brooch.

Some of these products include the Super Mario 3D All-Stars compilation package, the Switch Online game Super Mario 35, and Super Mario Bros. Games & Watches.

“The campaign to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. will end at the end of March 2021. With the end of the campaign, production, sales, and service of several products will also end,” Nintendo said as quoted by Nintendo Life.

In an interview with Polygon in December, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser discussed the company’s decision to remove the product from sale. According to him, these products are indeed special for sale for a limited period of time as part of Mario’s 35th birthday celebration.

“They did very well. Super Mario 3D All-Stars has sold over 2.6 million units in the United States alone. And clearly consumers enjoy it. It’s not a strategy we’ll use widely, but it’s a unique way of true celebration.”
