Making Drama at PMGC 2021, Loops from Brazil Get Disqualified
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 (PMGC 2021) has completed its competition league phase, the fourth week of Super Weekend, Sunday (12/20/2021). Even though this phase has ended, this phase leaves the drama created by the Brazilian esports team, Loops. The PMWL 2021 West zone runner-up team has just been declared disqualified from PMGC 2021. This was revealed from the release of PUBG Mobile Esports on Official Twitter account Monday (12/21/2021) early morning WIB.
Loops Esports was considered to have violated the rules of competitive integrity by being proven to have given up and refused to fight in the fourth and fifth matches of the third day of the fourth Super Weekend. It was revealed the reason they refused to fight was as part of a protest over the departure of their former captain, DadiN as well as internal problems within the organization.
Three players from Loops Esports, Caiowski, Gxlden, and Federal separated from their fourth player and entered the Church on the Erangel map, where they stood still doing nothing. Players from RRQ Athena saw them and got three easy kills without a fight. While one Loops player, Carrilho did not join his other teammates and played a normal game. As a result, this “weird scenario” received the spotlight from PUBGM TV BR.
“Loops are mathematically devoid of chances, despite last fall’s results. The players decided to show their support to their former team-mates in protest.”
Dadin is the Captain of Loops Esports, who parted ways with the team surprisingly in the middle of the competition. As a result, the team had to continue the match without Dadin on the last day of the League round. Although the exact reason for this action is not explained, his teammates don’t seem too happy with the organization’s decision.
The PUBG Mobile disciplinary commission has obtained some evidence that supports the decision which states that three Loops Esports players, Federal, Gxlden, and Caiowski, were found guilty. As a result, all Loops Esports points were forfeited and immediately made the Brazilian team at the bottom of the rankings. Meanwhile, Loops Esports’ Grand Final slot went to a team from Bangladesh, A1 eSports, which was previously ranked 17th with a collection of 187 points.
After undergoing the last day, 16 teams officially got tickets to the PMGC 2021 Grand Final, including two from Indonesia, Bigetron Red Aliens and Aerowolf Limax.
