Reasons LoL Wild Rift Release Date Will Be Delayed.

The Open Beta for League of Legends Wild Rift is here and can be accessed by MOBA game lovers on all mobile devices.

Even so, the open beta will only be accessible in a few countries, namely, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Countries outside the list will not get access to the open beta due to internal reasons from Riot Games, and this will impact the full release of the game as well.

Initially, Riot had announced that LOL Wild Rift would be releasing in December 2021 on Android and iOS devices.

But now they have confirmed that the release schedule will be delayed in North America but they will try to execute it in other countries.

With the open beta already being released in several ASEAN countries, Japan and Korea, Riot has now announced that LOL Wild Rift will be delayed until 2021 for players in North America, South America, and India.

Why LoL Wild Rift Release Date Was Postponed

In a tweet, Riot Games executive producer Michael Chow explained to LoL players around the world why they made this decision.

One of the first things Michael highlighted was the challenges the Riot team faced in releasing a competitive mobile game with huge server and infrastructure requirements amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

This pandemic makes them unable to travel abroad and creates complications in handling requirements in each region.

And this makes them unable to provide new locations and services.

“This has become a much more complex and multifaceted issue to bring services to your region specifically,” said Michael

“Speeding up the release date of this game is not a solution because it can expose players to a lot of problems and may require a reset of the entire game server,” he continued.

Currently Open Beta LoL Wild Rift can be played in Indonesia, but unfortunately other countries outside ASEAN have to wait until 2021 to be able to play this MOBA game.
