Logitech to Hold First Esports Tournament for People with Disabilities
GAMEFINITY.ID, Purworejo – Playing games is the right of everyone, not only for normal people but also for those with special needs or people with disabilities. In the past it might be a little difficult for people with disabilities to access it because most controllers are not designed for people with disabilities.
But now this is no longer a barrier because controllers for people with disabilities are available, for example from Logitech with the Logitech G Adaptive Gaming Kit. Not even just making peripherals for people with disabilities, Logitech recently announced that it will hold an Esports tournament for people with disabilities.
The tournament, called the Logitech G Adaptive eSports Tournament, was created in collaboration with AbleGamers Charity, Adaptive Action Sports, and Mount Sinai.
We’ve teamed up with @AdaptiveAction, @AbleGamers, @MountSinaiRehab and others to create the Adaptive Esports Tournament! ️

AbleGamers is a charity that provides accessibility to games for people with disabilities. Then Adaptive Action Sports is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 that offers sports and training programs for people with disabilities. Mount Sinai is a New York-based medical center that includes a hospital, medical school and a network of outpatient practices.
This will be the first Esports tournament to be held for people with disabilities. The aim of this tournament is to provide a platform for esports players from the disabled to compete and showcase their skills.
The first tournament will take place in the fall of 2021 and is a single-elimination Rocket League 2v2 tournament with gear from Logitech G. The tournament will then be expanded to selected countries with more information to be announced soon.
With tournaments like this, now people with disabilities have the opportunity to become pro players. This step makes the world of esports more varied and in the future hopefully other parties will be interested in participating in organizing similar tournaments.
A casual gamer who is interested in things related to PCs, consoles and gaming hardware.
