Krafton Announces PUBG Lite Closing End of April
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Krafton has announced that they will be shutting down PUBG Lite in April 2021. This free-to-play, low-spec adaptation of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds previously launched in open beta in January 2021.
In addition to the 100 player battle royale mode (PUBG standard), PUBG Lite has offered a 4v4 mode where two teams fight to achieve 40 eliminations. They also have free and premium season passes, and have an in-game currency called L-Coin to buy exclusive items.
New downloads will no longer be available starting March 30, with the end of the game’s service scheduled for April 29. Player support will then be withdrawn on May 29. Players will be able to continue playing the game and using in-game credits, including L-Coins until the closing date.
“Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close the service after much deliberation. The time has come to end our journey,” said Krafton PUBG Lite official site.
“We would like to express our sincere apologies and our deepest gratitude to everyone. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your time with us and look forward to our other endeavors in the future.”
Meanwhile, PUBG Season 11 launches from Wednesday (31/3/2021) and is available on consoles on April 8. This season will mark the return, Paramo, of the 3×3 South American highlands map that was first introduced with Season 9, October 2021. The update includes a new means of transportation, as well as an Emergency Pickup item.
