Invited by Hotman to Debate, Winda Earl EVOS writes to OJK, BI, DPR, to Sri Mulyani

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The case of the loss of savings worth Rp 22 billion belonging to the Esports athlete from the EVOS team, Winda Lunardi alias Winda Earl and his mother, is getting more complicated. After being challenged by Maybank Indonesia’s attorney, Hotman Paris Hutapea, for an open debate, Winda admitted that he had sent letters to a number of high-ranking officials, including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

“After knowing about it (the money disappeared), the attorney has continued by sending letters to the OJK (Financial Services Authority), the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani), Bank Indonesia, and Commission XI (DPR RI),” said Winda quoted from Kompas broadcast. TV, Tuesday (11/10/2021).

Winda and his attorney said that so far they have not received a direct response from the government or the banking supervisory financial authority. The athlete from the EVOS team admitted that he was forced to report the loss of his savings to the authorities and to a number of officials because Maybank ignored his report. Winda’s report is registered with the number LP/B/0239/V/2021/Bareskrim dated May 8, 2021.

“So we did not get a good response from Maybank. We report it to the authorities. Precisely from the news that I got it was surprising. Maybank throws the responsibility on their branch heads.”

The police have so far arrested a suspect with the initials A, who is the head of the Maybank Indonesia Cipulir branch. The suspect has now been detained by the Tangerang District Attorney (Kejari). Bareskrim has confiscated several assets, including cars, land, buildings, and are still investigating other assets.

Previously, the lawyer for PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk. Hotman Paris Hutapea revealed a number of irregularities in this case. Among them are Winda’s savings book which has been held by the suspect, until there was a flow of money that flowed to Winda’s father, Herman Lunardi. According to Hotman, this case is not an ordinary burglary. In addition, the investigation into this case has actually been running since May 2021.

“Maybank is determined that it must first be clear what the motivation for this oddity is. After it is clear that it is true, Maybank pays,” said Hotman.

Regarding this case, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) plans to evaluate the internal control system of PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk. OJK Public Relations and Logistics Commissioner Anto Prabowo appealed to Maybank to immediately conduct an investigation related to this case.
