IndoPride! Xepher And Whitemon Successfully Win ESL One Summer 2021

After yesterday they secured The International slot and reached the top 3 on WePlay! Animajor 2021, now Xepher and Whitemon won the tournament ESL One Summer 2021.

ESL One Summer itself is the biggest non-DPC tournament of the season. Various giant teams such as Virtus.Pro, Team Secret, OG, Nigma, and others took part in this competition.

On Monday, June 21, 2021 Xepher and Whitemon together T1 beat the giants of the CIS region, Virtus.Pro in the ESL One Summer 2021 Grand Final match with the score 3-2.

For this victory, T1 managed to bring the ESL One trophy and a total of 175 thousand dollars (2.5 billion rupiah).

ESL One Summer 2021 Final Matches

The match between T1 and Virtus.Pro was very fierce. In the first game, T1 managed to win thanks to the fantastic performance of 23Savage’s Phantom Assassin.

Then Virtus.Pro’s systematic and aggressive teamfight hit back T1 with 2 wins and reversed the score to 2-1. In game 4, T1’s cooperation and crucial teamfight forced the position to be a 2-2 draw.

In the deciding game, T1 uses draft aggressive heavy push with heroes pusher such as Leshrac, Faceless Void and Broodmother. While Virtus.Pro focuses more on a balanced draft using the Wraith King, Invoker and Timbersaw heroes.

Virtus.Pro started game 5 with a lane advantage and 3 kills in the early minutes of the game. Then T1 replied with early mid tower push Broodmother and Leshrac.

The winning actor from T1 comes from Xepher’s fantastic performance with his Nyx Assassin. After purchasing the Aghanim’s Scepter item and unlocking the Burrow skill, Xepher overwhelmed Virtus.Pro in teamfights near Roshan with the Impale and Mana Burn spam techniques.

After T1 managed to win two big teamfights, they immediately broke into Virtus.Pro’s base. Nightfall’s overly aggressive blunder with Wraith King made T1 easily destroy tier 4 tower and Ancient Virtus.Pro.

T1’s Journey to Champion

T1’s journey to victory in the ESL One Summer 2021 tournament is quite easy. Before the tournament started, T1 had already become the favorite champion candidate for the casters and panelists.

In round 2 of the upper bracket, T1 successfully defeated Vikin.gg with a score of 2-0. Furthermore, they managed to beat DPC Region NA Season 2, Quincy Crew with the same score, 2-1.

However, in the Upper Bracket final, T1 had to suffer a defeat against Virtus.Pro which turned out to be their potential opponent in the Grand Final.

For this defeat, T1 had to go down to the lower bracket and face Alliance to secure tickets for the ESL One Summer 2021 Grand Final.

In a pretty fierce BO3 match, T1 managed to get past the aggressiveness of the Alliance with a score of 2-0 and penetrated to the Grand Final where Virtus.Pro was waiting.

And of course, in the Grand Final T1 match, he succeeded in avenging the defeat in the upper bracket and at the same time winning the ESL One Summer 2021 tournament.
