Guilty Gear Strive has been postponed again until June 2021

Postponed so the game can get better.

One of the highly anticipated fighting games, Guilty Gear Strive, has now officially been pushed back its release date. Previously this game was going to be released on April 9, but has now changed to June 11, 2021.

This release delay is also the second time that Arc System Works as a developer has done. Based on the original plan, Guilty Gear Strive will be released early in late 2021.

The first delay was caused by the transition in terms of work amid the coronavirus pandemic carried out by Arc System Works. Now, Arc System Works has issued a new delay because this game still has to go through a few tweaks to really become one of the standout fighting games.

“As we’ve received valuable feedback after conducting an open beta test recently, we wanted to make the most of this opportunity to deliver the best game possible,” the GGS development team said in a tweet.

“We needed some extra time to fine-tune some aspects of the game, such as online lobbying and server stability.”

PlayStation players can test out what Guilty Gear Strive has to offer in an open beta test in February 2021. The game presents the franchise’s most iconic characters in a whole new light.

In addition, GGS has also managed to impress users with its excellent netcode, where it is possible for players to stage cross-regional online matches with little lag.

In the previous series, Guilty Gear Xrd, this game has received a lot of acclaim, but failed to develop a strong online player population with only its best peak of 1,614 players on Steam. This number is very far when compared to Tekken 7 of 18,766 people and Street Fighter V of 13,807 players.

The game has provided an in-depth tutorial for its basic roster and teasers for the two new characters, Anji Mito and I-No, who were not playable during the beta. From the looks of it, the development team will likely try to refine the character’s gameplay and provide a balanced meta for the competitive scene.

Guilty Gear Strive will be released on PS4, PS5, and PC on June 11, 2021.
