G2 Esports Reserves Davidp from the VALORANT Roster.

G2 Esports is one of the best VALORANT teams in Europe right now. Before the European First Strike tournament, they were arguably far superior to the other teams.

Davidp initially joined G2 as a stand-in, but later became a full part of the roster as G2 won every event Ignition Series in Europe. Going to First Strike, they were once again the favorites, but lost in the semifinals to Team Heretics.

Certainly G2 and its fans are very disappointed with the results of First Strike Europe because they are very seeded to win the biggest tournament of Valorant.

“David finished our roster a few months ago and we have seen tremendous success together,” said the G2 team manager Maik “MaikTurtle” Löffler. “These few months have been very emotional and we are very grateful for his time with David, but as a team we have come to the conclusion of exploring additional options and letting him explore as well.”

Davidp is still under contract with the organization but is now free to look for other teams while G2 begins looking for players to fill his role ahead of 2021.

Davidp also understands why G2 had to make this change.

“I really enjoy playing with the team,said David. “We won all the Ignition Series in Europe (7/7) and I will never forget that. I will always remember the triumphant and crazy moments we had together. Sometimes you have to say goodbye to the person you like. That’s life, you can’t do anything about it.”

He also said the team would try to replace him with a true in-game leader (IGL) to make a decision. That is the main need of the G2, according to Davidp.
