Fortnite Will Return to Apple Devices via Nvidia Cloud Gaming
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – iPhone and iPad users will be able to return to playing Fortnite on their devices. The game made by Epic Games can be played again through the cloud gaming service from Nvidia. As reported by Reuters on Friday (10/6/2021), Nvidia has developed a version of its GeForce Now cloud gaming service that runs on the Safari mobile web browser. Apple did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, while Epic declined to comment.
Nvidia said it would not comment on new clients coming to the service, or on the availability of any games on the undeclared or unreleased platform. The graphics processor company is expected to announce an update to its GeForce Now service later this month with support for Apple’s iOS.
Apple rules require cloud gaming companies to submit each game title in the catalog as a separate app for review by Apple, and the catalog app will then provide a link to the game title. Those requirements are a barrier for cloud gaming companies that intend to offer their users a seamless experience.
Microsoft Corp, which owns the game streaming service in its premium Xbox Game Pass subscription, has previously criticized Apple over the rules.
